Hair loss medical treatments - Review

Hair loss in women and men has led to a renewed interest in developing targeted therapies that help people effectively restore their natural hair growth. However, despite the fact that these therapies  may be necessary to get hair back, hair loss shouldn't be considered as a real health issue, because it is all natural that at a certain age people including 2/3 of men develop alopecia areata and a thinning of hair known as telogen, which may be the main cause  of female pattern hair loss.

Nevertheless, like many things in life, you don't realize how important your hair is until you start to lose it. The combination of Minoxidil and finasteride typically works better to prevent further hair  loss by the age but there are some things to keep in mind before starting this treatment, one, the side effects reported after the usage of minoxidil may be not tolerated by many, as it causes sexual disturbances resulted by inhibiting an enzyme that is responsible for the conversion of the male sex hormone testosterone to another hormone dihydrotestosterone DHT causing the hair follicles to produce thinner hair until they stop definitely growing. Two, finasteride has been found to lead to erectile dysfunction and decreased libido in approximately more than 50% of men.
